The OSU football team looked great. Gundy’s hair looked great. Beau Johnson, Keith Toston, Patrick Lavine, Tracy Moore, etc looked great. Then OSU drops in the polls. One spot in the AP to No. 16 and one spot in the USA today to No. 14. What the hell voters? Are they being penalized for not having Dez Bryant on the PRESUMPTION they won’t be as good. Nebraska leapt five spots in the AP after crapping the bed for three quarters in Missouri. I’m done with polls.
That being said, I’ll be the one millionth scribe to describe OSU’s performance as “gutty” on Saturday. Two years ago, they don’t make that fourth and inches in the fourth quarter and A&M goes down and scores. Maybe Gundy now knows how to win.
And, boy, was the big man PISSED on a couple of bogus calls by the refs. I haven’t seen Gundy that animated since Target discontinued his favorite hair gel.
My star of the game is Patrick Lavine. He came from the weak side to make a few tackles, put nice pressure on the quarterback and was a general disruption on defense. And (biting lip) Donald Booker played pretty well, too. Lucien Antoine is the hardest hitter in the Big 12 and that Swanson Miller on the O-State defensive line is a mean SOB. In a great way.
I’d love to have Dez back. But winning that game without the number one No. 1 was somehow a little more gratifying.
